To be eligible for the scholarship, a candidate must -
- Be a citizen of West Bengal.
- Be studying in Class 9 and 10.
- Belong to SC/ST category.
- Have parents/guardians income from all sources not more than INR 2 lakhs per annum.
How can you apply?
Eligible candidates can apply through following steps -
Step 1: Visit the official scholarship page of West Bengal Government.
Step 2: Click on "Student's Registration" option.
Step 3: Choose respective district of permanent address.
Step 4: Fill up the registration form with basic information and submit.
Step 5: Download login information/acknowledgment slip.
Step 6: Login through "Registered Student's Login" using permanent user id/application number and password.
Step 7: Fill in further details and bank account information.
Step 8: Verify and lock the information and take a print out of the application form.
Step 9: Submit the printed copy of filled-in application form to concerned Block/Municipality along with required documents.

Award details
- Scholarship amount of INR 750 per month (INR 350 from Government of India and INR 400 by state Government) for 10 months for hostellers and INR 150 per month for 10 months for day scholars.
- Adhoc grant of INR 1000 per annum for hostellers and INR 750 per annum for day scholars.
Documents required
- 1 recent stamp size colored photograph of the applicant duly attested and pasted on the application.
- An attested copy of caste certificate acknowledgement slip of the applicant.
- An attested copy of the marksheets/certificates of the last examination passed.
