About The Program

Vienna BioCenter Summer Research Program 2026, initiated by the Vienna BioCenter, seeks to support motivated students in life sciences to gain hands-on research experience or pursue a PhD at one of Europe’s leading life science research campuses. Selected students will receive a stipend of €1,400 and other benefits.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be studying a Life Science related degree relevant to one of the participating research groups
  • have completed at least 2 years of university
  • have a minimum of 3 months of research experience
  • have a strong academic record
  • demonstrate a high level of English proficiency
  • submit official proof of enrollment and transcripts for the current and next academic year


Note:-

  • The following fields are NOT eligible: veterinary medicine, medical engineering, agriculture, pharmacy, zoology, food or nutritional science, and degrees without lab training or unrelated to molecular/cellular biology.
  • MD students may apply only if they have completed 3–4 years of study, have suitable research experience, and intend to pursue a PhD in Life Sciences after their degree.
  • Applicants should check the groups offering positions before applying, as this will also determine which research areas are covered in the call.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
Benefits

Selected candidates will receive a stipend of €1,400 (approx. ₹1,44,939) along with free accommodation, medical insurance, and a free travel pass to Vienna.
