About The Program
UNU-IAS PhD Scholarships, Japan 2018 invites applications from postgraduate students who are willing to pursue a PhD programme in the field of Sustainability Science. The key objective of the scholarship is to promote a better understanding of the issues relating to sustainability by incorporating global change perspectives.
EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
An applicant must -
- Have a strong interest in the field of sustainability studies
- Demonstrate commitment to study and understand the global issues
- Have completed Master's degree in the disciplines related to sustainability studies with at least 2 years of practical experience in relevant UNU-IAS research themes, OR
- Have completed two Master's degree, out of which at least one should be in the field of sustainability studies.
- Have score a 3.5 or above GPA on a 4.0 scale for at least one Master's degree
- Be proficient in the English language.
Benefits
The selected students will receive -
- A monthly allowance of JPY 120,000 for living expenses for up to 3 years.
- Full tuition fee waiver
Note: The travel cost, visa handling fees and accident/health insurance cost will not be covered under this scholarship.
