About The Program

The University of Sussex is inviting applications from students having a master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent for fully-funded PhD Scholarship in Machine Learning and AI 2019 in its Wearable Technologies Lab. The selected scholars receive a fee waiver for three years and a tax-free stipend of GBP 15,009 per annum.

To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must -

  • Hold a Master's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. 
  • Have prior experience in machine learning and in embedded and wearable systems.
  • Have excellent technical skills such as programming in Matlab, C/C++, or Python. 
  • Have experience with deep learning frameworks and Linux.
  • Be proficient in spoken and written English.
Benefits

The selected scholars will receive -

  • A stipend of GBP 15,009 per annum for three years
  • Fee waiver for three years

  • Having outstanding technical skills and a strong interest in research at the crossroads of machine learning, signal processing, embedded systems, sensor technologies and their applications gives an extra-edge to the applicants.
