About The Program

The University of Maine invites applications for the University of Maine School of Forest Resources (SFR) Scholarship 2020 from new and continuing undergraduate/postgraduate students of the university. The scholarship aims to support meritorious students. Selected students will receive a scholarship award ranging from USD 350 to 7,000.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Be a new or continuing student of the School of Forest Resources (SFR) at University of Marine
  • Be admitted to any of the following programs -
    • BS in Forestry (FTY)
    • BS in Forest, Operations, Bioproducts & Bioenergy (FBB)
    • BS in Parks, Recreation & Tourism (PRT)
    • BS in Ecology & Environmental Sciences - Forest Ecosystems Option (EES-FE)
    • Master of Forestry
  • Have a cumulative grade of 2.0 or higher (for undergraduate students) and 3.0 or higher (for Master of Forestry students)

  • In order to qualify for awards that are granted to students with financial need, the candidate will need to complete a FAFSA form. However, financial need is not required for many other awards.
  • All students are eligible to apply, with different awards based on a number of criteria, including academic achievement and financial need.
  • The essay will be carefully read for content and grammar.
  • Priority will be given to students with excellent academic records and who have been active in organizations, and have participated in Certificate of Professionalism events.
