About The Program

Under Graduate Student Research Scholarship (UGSRS) 2024 is an opportunity provided by the Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences, Research and Development Department, for undergraduate students enrolled in MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, Nursing, Physiotherapy, B.Sc. (MLT), and other Paramedical courses. The scholarship aims to allow interested students to familiarise themselves with research technology. Selected students will receive a monthly scholarship of ₹5,000 for two months.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an Indian national
  • be an undergraduate student enrolled in MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, Nursing, Physiotherapy, B.Sc (MLT), or other paramedical courses at a college affiliated with Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS)
  • not have appeared for their final university exams yet i.e., not be an intern or postgraduate student

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000 for two months for research and a certificate.

  • A recent, colored, passport-sized photograph of the applicant (attested by the dean/principal)
  • A duly filled-out application form
  • A self-declaration certificate signed by the student
  • A certificate from the research guide supporting the student
  • A research proposal
  • A case study form
  • A study questionnaire
  • An ethics committee application/certificate (if applicable)
  • An informed consent form
How can you apply?

Eligible applicants can follow these steps to apply:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard and fill in the required details to 'Register' (Note:- If already registered, log in using the registered email ID.) 
Step 3: Read the details carefully and download the application form.
Step 4: Fill in the required details, attach the necessary documents, and submit the completed application and research proposal to the university before the deadline.

Note:- Only hard copies of the application will be accepted.

Application Start Date: 17th July 2024
Application Deadline: 12th August 2024

Selection Criteria

Candidates will be selected based on an evaluation of the research proposals. A list of selected candidates will be published on the university website on 7th September 2024.

Selected students must complete the research project within two months (September and October) and submit the report by 30th November 2024. Upon approval of the report by the university, the scholarship will be awarded.

Terms and Conditions
  • Interns and postgraduate students are ineligible to apply.
  • Only one application is permitted per student.
  • Applications and submission requests received after the deadline will not be considered.
  • Each application and proposal must be accompanied by a completed Application Attestation form.
  • Applicants must conduct research at their institution under the supervision of a faculty member from the same institution.
  • Clinical trial protocols are ineligible for this scholarship and should not be submitted.
  • Only one student may work on a specific research topic.
  • The supervising faculty member must hold a permanent position at the institution.
  • A faculty member may supervise only one student for this scholarship, and only one application may be submitted per faculty member.
  • If the research proposal involves human or animal subjects, the student must obtain clearance (informed consent) from the Institutional Ethics Committee.
  • If the proposal is approved, Institutional Ethics Committee clearance must be obtained from the student's institution before research commences.
  • Dr. YSR University assumes no responsibility for a student's failure to submit a proposal or project on time for any reason.
