About The Program
University Grants Commission (UGC) invites applications for UGC Research Fellowship in Science 2020 from students registered in PhD in Science subjects at universities with Potential for Excellence/Centres with Potential for Excellence/Centres of Advance Studies and Department of Special Assistance identified by UGC. Selected fellows will receive a fellowship amount of INR 8,000 per month and a contingency grant of INR 6,000 per annum.

- Have been registered for a PhD in Science subjects in Universities with Potential for Excellence/ Centres with Potential for Excellence/ Centres of Advance Studies and Department of Special Assistance identified by UGC.

- The performance of the Research Fellow is monitored by their respective supervisor/guide and reflected in the yearly progress report submitted to the university for submission to the UGC office.
- The total amount of time to be spent on such activities should not exceed ten hours a week.
- The objective of the RFSMS scheme is to provide opportunities to meritorious candidates to undertake advanced studies and research leading to PhD degrees in sciences.
