About The Program

UCC Ireland Meritorious Scholarship for September 2019 is a merit-based scholarship for Indian students who are planning to take admission in undergraduate and post-graduate courses in UCC Ireland for September 2019 batch. The scholarship is being offered in the form of a tuition fee waiver for the selected students. The undergraduate scholarship is applicable for 4 years (or the duration of course), subject to the successful completion of each year by the student as per the required standard for progression.

For Undergraduate Courses:
• Applicant should have scored more than 80% marks in class 12 with a minimum score of 85 in Maths (In case, pursuing class 12, pre-board marks would be considered)
• Should have IELTS score in the range of 6–7 based on the courses  
For Postgraduate Courses:
• Applicant should have scored more than 65% in Degree (In case pursuing Degree, previous semester's mark sheet would be considered)
• Should have IELTS score in the range of 6.5–7 based on the courses 
For special QUERCUS (UG/PG students)
• Undergraduate applicant should have a merit of 90% in class 10 and 12
• Postgraduate applicant should have more than 85% in class 10, 12 and Degree
• Should have an IELTS score of 6.5 with 6 band in each module or should have TOEFL score of 95
Note: IELTS score is not compulsory for few programmes at the time of application.
Benefits

Depending on the course for which the student is applying, the scholarship may vary as mentioned below -

College of Science, Engineering and Food Science (SEFS):

  • UG & PG level: Up to 25% scholarship on the annual fee

 College of Business and Law (CBL)

  • PG level: EUR 3000 scholarship (for courses with fee >17k)

Additional benefits

  • Students can also participate for Quercus scholarship which offers 50% tuition fee reduction as scholarships. Details available in Annexure 1.
  • Students will also get an opportunity to work in Ireland post studies for 2 years. 
  • Every year, approximately 97% of students get a successful campus placement or project.

How can you apply?

Students can follow the below two steps to apply:

Step 1: Scholarship application and selection: All applications will be initially processed through Buddy4Study. After filling up the common application form, the Buddy4Study team will conduct a counselling session for the students based on the eligibility criteria of the university. Step 2: Admission application and selection: After counselling, students will be shortlisted for admission. Finalist students need to apply at the university admission portal to receive an offer letter.

FAQ's

Q. What is a conditional offer letter?
A. A conditional offer letter is issued to undergraduate students who are interested in joining college, subject to a condition that they score more than 85% marks in their class 12. If a student scores more than 85%, he/she can apply for the VISA process on the basis of the conditional offer letter. Similarly, a conditional offer letter is issued to a post-graduate student who is interested in joining college, subject to a condition that he/she score more than 65% in 10th, 12th and Degree courses.

Q. Why do we need to appear for the scholarship application first?
A. It is difficult to manage a huge number of applications as there are a few merit-based scholarship seats. To keep the selection process simple and efficient, the Buddy4Study team is handling the first level of shortlisting for scholarship seats. Students will be updated with the result of each stage over SMS, Emails.

Q. What is the scholarship amount and the number of seats? 
A. UCC offers merit-based scholarship seats, where students will receive up to 25% discount on their total tuition fee. The scholarship is given for all the 4 years. For Quercus scholarship, the scholarship amount is 50%.

Q. What kind of questions will be asked in interview round?
A. Interview round will be telephonic only to understand a student’s profile, aspirations and communication skills.
