About The Program
Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students 2018 invites applications from SC category students who have secured admission in a full-time degree course at a recognised institution after class 12. The key objective of the scholarship is to recognise and promote quality education amongst SC category students by providing them with full financial support. The scholarship covers the studies of SC students beyond class 12.

An applicant must -
- Belong to SC category
- Have secured admission in a full-time degree course after class 12 in a notified institution
- Have an annual family income of up to INR 6 Lakh from all sources
Benefits
A total of 1500 scholarships are disbursed every year covering -
- Full tuition fee and non-refundable charges up to a maximum ceiling of INR 2 Lakh per annum (for private sector institutions) and INR 3.72 Lakh per annum (for private sector flying clubs like Commercial Pilot Training and Type Rating Courses).
- Living expenses of INR 2,220 per month
- Books and stationery allowance of INR 3,000 per annum
- A one-time assistance of up to INR 45,000 for Latest computer/laptop of the renowned brand along with accessories like printer and UPS.

How can you apply?
Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through following steps -
Step 1: Visit the National Scholarship Portal.
Step 2: Click on New Student? Register Here.
Step 3: Select the state of domicile, select the name of the scholarship the student is applying for, select scheme type, write the name, date of birth, mobile number, gender, email ID.
Step 4: Provide the bank details (Bank name, IFS Code, Account Number).
Step 5: The mobile number will be verified and an OTP will be generated.
Step 6: Login using OTP and fill the form.
Step 7: An application ID and password will be generated. Use that for future references.
Note: All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill only one application as multiple applications will lead to the cancellation of the form.

- The scholarship scheme operates only in the institutions notified by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment like IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, NITs, NIDs, NIFTs, IHMs, NLUs and other central government institutions.
- Once started, the scholarship will continue till the completion of the course subject to satisfactory performance of the student.
- Thirty percent of the scholarship slots are reserved for girl candidates. However, in case of absence of sufficient number, the slot may be transferred eligible boy candidates.
- Only two siblings of a family can avail benefit under this scholarship scheme.
- If a student fails in the final examination, the scholarship will be terminated.
- The tuition fee and other non-refundable charges will be paid directly to the institution through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), while other rewards will be paid directly to the student through DBT.
