About the Program

Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai invites applications for TIFR Visiting Students Research Programme (VSRP) 2020 from students currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme. Selected students will get stipend up to INR 14,000, travel and accommodation benefits.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible, an applicant must:

    • Have completed two years of undergraduate course work in an academic institution in Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Mathematics/ Computer & Systems Sciences
    • Not have participated in VSRP before
    • Be currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's programme
    Benefits

    The selected students will receive the following benefits -

    • INR 7,000/- (For Maths Programme - 4.5 weeks)
    • INR 14,000/- (For NSF/STCS Programme - 9 weeks)
    • To-and-fro travel re-imbursement from the place of residence (address for correspondence mentioned in the application)
    •  Free shared accommodation on-or-off- campus
    Documents

    • Referee report
    • Write-up of up to 400 words

Selection Criteria

Selection is purely based on the academic performance of the student, submitted write-up and referee reports. There is no selection test/interview.

Terms and Conditions
  • Referees can fill the online report form till February 9, 2020.
  • School of Natural Sciences (NSF) and School of Technology & Computer Sciences (STCS) programme will commence from May 5 to July 6, 2020.
  • School of Mathematics programme will commence in Batch 1 from May 5 to June 4, 2020, 16:00 hours and in Batch 2: June 9 to July 9, 2020.
  • All the programmes will consist of research projects.
