About the Program

The Department of Theoretical Physics at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) invites applications for the TIFR Post Doctoral Visiting Fellowships 2019 from applicants holding a PhD in theoretical physics. The institute selects a few visiting postdoctoral fellows each year. The fellows have the opportunity to win multiple awards including a stipend and much more.

    Eligibility

    The following applicants are eligible to apply for the scholarship program: 

    • Should have a PhD degree in Theoretical Physics
      OR
    • Should have submitted a thesis to a recognized PhD-granting institution for such a degree

    The selected fellows will receive the following benefits: 

    • A fixed stipend 
    • Medical support inside the campus
    • On-campus housing

Terms and Conditions
  • The fellowships are one-year positions but can be renewed for up to a maximum of three years. 
  • The applicants with more than 1 year of postdoctoral experience and with an exceptional academic record and background will be considered for a prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru post-doctoral fellowship which has an internationally competitive salary.
  • Successful applicants will carry out research at the Theoretical Physics department and will have opportunities to collaborate with the members of the department.
