Thomson Reuters Foundation invites applications for Thomson Reuters Foundation Rural Poverty and Agricultural Development Fellowship 2020 from full-time journalists. This fellowship aims at acknowledging the daily issues faced by rural poor people and their communities and bringing their ordeals to people’s attention. Under this fellowship, selected journalists will get an opportunity to attend the UN’s International Fund for Agricultural Development‘s (IFAD) event in Rome on innovative approaches to inclusive financing for rural transformation.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible, an applicant must:

    • Be a full-time journalist or regular contributor to media-houses
    • Be oriented to journalism in his/her country
    • Have two years of experience in journalism
    • Have good written and spoken English skills

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on the eligibility criteria. Applicant’s interest in the field of rural peoples’ issues and development will be considered and finance journalists would be preferred.

Terms and Conditions
  • The event should not be considered a mere-workshop by IFAD, instead, the recipients are required to pursue issues and stories discussed during the event in their home countries.
  • Professional evidence of the candidate’s interest in the field of rural people’s issues and development would be required.
  • Visa and other related costs would be borne by the recipient only.
