About The Program

The University of Sydney Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarships Scheme 2025 is an initiative by the University of Sydney to encourage international meritorious students. This scholarship aims to support high-achieving international students to pursue a bachelor’s or a coursework master’s degree at the University of Sydney. The selected applicants will receive an amount of up to $40,000 (₹34,27,090) for one year in two equal installments per semester.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an international applicant 
  • have an unconditional offer for admission from the university
  • have applied for a bachelor’s degree or a coursework master’s degree 
  • have applied for the CRICOS-registered coursework degree
Benefits

The selected applicants will be offered 4 different scholarship amounts based on the ranking against the selection criteria:

  • $40,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments per semester
  • $20,000 payable for one semester
  • $10,000 payable for one semester
  • $5,000 payable for one semester

Note:-

  • The availability of some amounts will be limited to specified cohorts. 
  • The awardees may be invited to promote the program or represent the University of Sydney at student orientation, marketing events and corporate networking events.

Eligible candidates can apply for the opportunity by following the steps:

Step 3: Navigate to the ‘How to Apply’ section and read the details carefully. 

Note:- 

  • The students who have secured admission in the university are not required to fill out the application form for a scholarship. 
  • The students who have enrolled in the courses will be automatically considered for the scholarship.
  • The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.

Application Deadline: 31st March 2025
 

Selection Criteria
  • The applicants will be selected based on academic merit as assessed from a student’s admission application to a UG or PG coursework degree.
  • The Scholarship will be awarded on the nomination of a selection committee consisting of two nominees of the Executive Director, Sydney Future Students and one nominee of the Admissions Office.
Terms and Conditions
  • An applicant must be an international students who come under the definition in the Higher Education Support Act 2003.
  • Students starting a second degree at the University of Sydney are eligible if they have not previously received this scholarship.
  • Recipients of scholarships provided by the Australian Government are not eligible.
  • If a student withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol, then the scholarship will be terminated.
