The Hindu Playwright Award 2018 invites entries from playwrights above 18 years of age. The main objective is to encourage and promote young talents in the field of scriptwriting.
The Hindu Playwright Award 2018
DeadlineClosed Eligibility - Playwrights above the age of 18 years are eligible to apply.
- The applicants should not be an employee or a close relative to any of the employees of The Hindu Group.
Benefits The winner will receive a cash award of INR 2,00,000 on the occasion of The Hindu Theatre Fest 2018.
Documents The playwrights have to submit:
- The full-length script of at least 50 minutes playtime.
- The Curriculum Vitae including all details (academic, professional and personal).
How can you apply? Step1: Prepare a full-length script in English (of minimum 50 minutes).
Step 2: Now, send the soft copy of the script and CV with name, mobile/telephone number, email id and postal address specified on it via email to playwrightaward@thehindu.co

Important Dates
- Deadline for submitting script: 31st May 2018.
- Declaration of winner: before 7th July 2018
Terms and Conditions
- The content should be original, unpublished and unperformed.
- One applicant submit only one entry.
- Adaptation of novels and texts is allowed, but translations will not be accepted.
- The printed versions should be on one side of an A4 sheets, with double spacing.
