The exam will take place at IIIT Manipur, City Campus, Imphal. Valid GATE/NET-qualified candidates are exempt from the entrance exam but must attend the interview.

About The Program
Thangal Research Fellowship 2025 is an opportunity provided by the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Senapati, Manipur (IIITM) for students enrolling in Ph.D. programs. It aims to support meritorious students by offering financial aid. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹25,000 and accommodation at the institution.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be enrolling in a full-time Ph.D. program in specified disciplines
- fulfil the respective eligibility criteria of the chosen discipline
- hold valid scores in the GATE and NET 2025 examinations
Note:- SC/ST/PwD candidates will receive a 5% relaxation in merit.
Benefits
Selected candidates will receive:-
- ₹25,000 monthly stipend for 3 years.
- Accommodation in the institute hostel, subject to availability.
Note:- Hostel/mess-related fees will be charged extra based on the institute norms.

- Self-attested copy of the reserved category certificate on the prescribed proforma, and signed by the
- competent authority (if applicable)
- No Objection certificate from the present employer (if employed)
Note:- Copies of these documents, along with a signed copy of the application form, must be presented during the interview.
