About The Program

The Terra Summer Residency Fellowship Giverny, France 2019 is a 9-week residential program and international cultural program for aspiring American Arts students worldwide. Applications are invited from Doctoral Applicants pursuing studies in American Art and Global Visual Artists for this program.

Terra Fellows will be provided fellowship grants and summer accommodation for the duration of the fellowship, while they indulge in seminars, scholar debates and artistic reflection programs along with other international fellows and senior scholars in the village of Giverny, France.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

The applicants are required to follow the listed age and qualification eligibility criteria. They must:-

  • Be a Visual Artist with Master’s Degree or Equivalent
  • Have completed their Master’s in the recent 5 years
  • Or be a Doctoral Candidate for studies of American art and visual culture or its role in the context of international artistic exchange prior to 1980
  • Such Doctoral Candidates from any stage of research and writing are eligible
Benefits

6 Doctoral Fellows and 4 Visual Artist Fellows selected for Terra Summer Residency Fellowship will receive the following benefits:-

  • USD 5000 stipend
  • Additional USD 300 for equipment purchase
  • Travel Compensation of USD 1500
Documents

For Visual Artist Applications

  • Two letters of recommendation: one from applicant’s former art school supervisor and one from another individual (personal or professional)
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Portfolio consisting of a maximum of 12 images and/or videos and an inventory list

For Doctoral Fellowship Applicants

  • Two letters of recommendation: one from applicant’s dissertation advisor and one from another individual (personal or professional)
  • Project proposal (including a statement of purpose and a detailed statement of the applicant’s dissertation project)
  • Curriculum vitae
How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the program through the following steps:

For Visual Artists Application

Step 1: Register for application by visiting the requisite link:

Step 2: Register with the email address and press the continue button.
Step 3: Read the instructions and fill academic and personal details.
Step 4: Click on Project Proposal Tab available on top of the application form.
Step 5: Write the application essays and proceed by clicking on the Attachments tab.
Step 6: Attach required CV and portfolio (max. 1 GB)
Step 7: Go the Review Application tab and check for any missing details
Step 8: Submit the application by clicking on the Update button from below.

Note: At any point, the applicants can click on ‘Save and Finish Later’ button to save progress.

Caution:

  • Do not use the Registration Link or Application Link for accessing the partially filled forms, it’ll start a fresh application.
  • Instead, visit the Application Update Link for changes in the application before submission
