About The Program

The Swedish Institute Management Programme Asia 2018-19 is an opportunity for anyone in the age group of 25-45 years to be a part of a network of emerging leaders in exploring various business perspectives. The mission of the Swedish Institute Management Programme is to lead change for responsible leadership and sustainable business practices.

To apply for this scholarship, the candidate must:

  • Be 25-45 years of age
  • Be a domicile of India, China, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand or Vietnam
  • Hold a senior position within trade, industry or the public sector
  • Aspire to make sustainability an integral part of business strategy
  • Have a good working knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Be willing to forward the knowledge gained from the programme

How can you apply?

Follow the below steps to apply for the scholarship:

Step 1: Download the application form and fill out the required details.
Step 2: Visit the application portal and register as a new user after filling the required details.
Step 3: On the portal, upload the duly filled application form.
Step 4: Also upload an updated CV in English.
Step 5: Then upload a letter of recommendation in English (up to 500-word long).
Step 6: Finally upload a photo (optional).

  • Applications: 28 Sep 2018 to 29 Oct 2018
  • Application evaluation: 30 Oct 2018 to 25 Nov 2018
  • Interviews: 26 Nov 2018 to 26 Dec 2018
  • Admission: 27 Dec 2018 to 21 Jan 2019
Selection Criteria

The selection will be done by a committee from the Swedish Institute on the basis of the following criteria:

  • The relevance and quality of personal motivation and commitment, and the applicant’s answers in the application form.
  • An assessment of the CV.
  • An assessment of the letter of recommendation from one reference person.
  • The general qualifications of the applicant.

The shortlisted candidates will then be called for interviews through Skype. At last, a total of 30 applicants will be selected for admission.

  • The letter of recommendation should be from a person who knows the applicant's work and should motivate his/her participation in the programme.
  • The applicant will have to bear the visa cost himself/herself.
  • The selected applicants will also meet prominent figures in the commercial and political sectors as well as academia.
  • The programme curriculum includes theoretical approaches, problem-solving using real business cases and interactive workshops with experienced practitioners.
  • The participants will be working as a part of an active network of business leaders working for a sustainable future in Asia, Africa and Europe.

FAQ's

Q. I’m from a country that’s not listed on si.se/simpasia, can I still apply?
A. No. The programme only accepts applications from the residents of India, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam.

Q. Where do I send my application?
A. The applications need to be submitted through the online application portal only.

Q. I have uploaded my CV and application form but I’m unable to proceed to the next step and submit my application.
A. The applicant must make sure that he/she has clicked “Add” next to each individual file before clicking “Submit”.

Q. I submitted my application but I didn’t get a confirmation email.
A. If the status of the candidate's application is showing "submitted" then everything is alright irrespective of receiving the confirmation mail.

Q. I can’t log in to the online application portal, it says my username is used.
A. In that case, the applicants need to register as a "New User".
