SOF International Sports Knowledge Olympiad (ICKO) 2016-17 will be conducted on 2 dates i.e, 15th Sept & 4th Oct 2016.

Schools must return the registration forms to SOF, duly filled in and complete in all respects by the due date.

The school's coordinating teacher will generate the students' Roll Numbers as per the guidelines given. A copy of these roll numbers along with the Students' Registration Sheet (SRS) and School Registration Form (SRF) should be sent to the Foundation's office before the due date of submission of forms.

Foundation will register the applicant school and the students and dispatch question papers and guidelines for conducting the examination. Principals / teachers may please note that any school can be registered as a center for ISKO. No fee is required from the institution to become a registered examination centre. A minimum of 10 students need to be registered from each school for feasibility reasons.

Each school may select a date for conducting the ISKO as per its convenience. Each date of exam has a separate question paper. ISKO is a single level exam.

Students should register through their respective schools only. Individual registrations by students are not accepted.

A nominal participation fee is charged from each student. Part of it is retained by the school for its expenses as exam center. Details about the fee / mode of payment etc. are given in the School Registration Forms sent to schools.

The ISKO is an objective-type test of 60 minutes duration comprising 35 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class 1 to class 4 and 50 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class 5 to class 10.

AWARDS/SCHOLARSHIPS/RECOGNITIONS

For the academic year 2016-17, SOF will spend over Rs. Fourteen Crores on awards, Scholarships, gifts & felicitations etc.

The following awards will be provided to the winners of International Sports Knowledge Olympiad being held during the academic year 2016-17.

AWARDS/SCHOLARSHIPS - STUDENTS

International & State topper  awards will be provided to 1st level winners.

Each winner will be entitled to one award for an exam. The winners will be entitled to the higher level award only. For eg,. the international top 3 rank holders will be entitled to awards based on their International ranks. Awards accruing to them for State ranks will be given to the next rank holder. Similarly, school award accruing to a State award winner will be given to the next rank holder.

In case two or more students achieve the same rank, cash award in the applicable category will be distributed as under:

International Winners - 

  • for up to 9 students getting same rank, award amount will be distributed equally. In addition, each winner will be awarded a medal (in the applicable category) and a Merit Certificate.
  • In case more than 9 students get same rank, in lieu of cash award each winner will be awarded a medal ( in the applicable category) and Merit Certificate. 

State Winners -  

  • for up to 4 students getting same rank, award amount will be distributed equally. In addition, each winner will be awarded a medal (in the applicable category) and a Merit Certificate.
  • In case more than 4 students get same rank, in lieu of cash award, each winner will be awarded a medal (in the applicable category) and Merit Certificate. 

AT SCHOOL LEVEL

1. Medals to school Toppers.

A. In case section wise registrations are not received:

  • Where 10 or more students from one class write an exam - *gold, silver and bronze medals to top 3 rank holders.
  • Where between 5 to 9 students from a class write an exam -* gold medal to the top rank holder.
  • All students whose sections are not indicated will be allocated section “X” by default

B. In case section wise registrations are received:

  • In case a section has more than 25 participants, top 3 rank holding students from such section will be awarded medals. This will be applicable for all sections where participants exceed 25 nos.
  • In addition to above, if between 10 -25 students participate from a section, the top 3 will be awarded a gold, silver and bronze medal.
  • In case 2 or more sections have between 10-25 participants, top 3 rank holding students from one section with highest participants will be awarded  medals.
  • In case 2 or more sections from a class have same number of participants (between 10-25), the top 3 rank holders will be determined by merging such sections. These top 3 rank holders will be awarded medals

2. Student Performance Report (SPR) for each participating student.

  • Every student who appears in ISKO is provided with a Student Performance Report (SPR). An SPR is a detailed analysis of how the student attempted the Olympiad exam.
  • The objective of SPR is to share with the student and her / his parents, analysis of student’s answers. This is expected to enable the student understand her/his strengths and areas requiring improvement in absolute terms and also on a competitive scale consisting of lacs of students of her/his class who appeared for the Olympiad.

The SPR consists of six sections:

  • Section A – provides the student’s marks and rank achieved in school / city / state / at international level.
  • Section B – provides a comparison of the student’s performance in the Olympiad exams during the past  years, if applicable.
  • Section C – provides a topic wise performance score of the student.
  • Section D – provides correct answers to questions asked in the Olympiad exam, the answers given by the student and performance comparison of the student’s answers vs other students in the state and at the international level.
  • Section E – provides a percentile score analysis of the student with a comparison with the class, state and international percentile.
  • Section F – provides a comparison of average marks analysis at the school, state and international level.
  • Section G – Provide a topic wise performance comparison within state.

3. Participation Certification to each student.

*Medals are Gold / Silver / Bronze color plated as applicable
