About The Program
SOF Girl Child Scholarship Scheme (G.C.S.S) 2023-24 is an initiative of the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF)* for the girl students studying in Classes 1 to 10. The scholarship aims to financially assist the girl child of economically weak families so that they can continue their school education. On the basis of recommendations given by the schools across India, about 300 needy girl children will be supported with INR 5,000 each per annum (one-time).
*SOF is an Educational Organization popularizing academic competition and assisting the development of competitive spirit among school children.

To be eligible, an applicant must -
- be a girl child
- be studying in Classes 1 to 10
- have secured at least 60% marks or equivalent grade in the previous class of study
- have parents' combined monthly income of less than INR 15,000
Benefits
INR 5,000 each for a full year will be given to 300 selected girl children across India.

How can you apply?
Eligible candidates can apply for the opportunity by following the below-mentioned steps:

Step 3: The students are requested to contact the school to apply for the opportunity.
Note - The schools will send a proposal recommending a girl for the scholarship. The duly signed recommendation by the Head Master/Head Mistress/Principal will be sent by the school to SOF at the below-mentioned address -

- Marks criteria can be waived off for physically disabled girl children.
- The girl being nominated by the school must be studying in the recommended school in India in Classes 1 to 10.
- The school must send a copy of the student's previous year's report card duly certified by the principal with the GCSS form.
- The schools can download the nomination form from the official website.
