About The Program

Sewa Fellowship 2025 is an opportunity offered by Sewa International* (a non-profit organisation) to applicants from different backgrounds. The fellowship is a 100-week program that equips young, bright minds with knowledge, skills, and mindset to serve. It also includes fieldwork, grassroots connections, and social entrepreneurship camps. It will help the fellows to understand the ways to bridge the needs of grassroots development with a vision for the future. Applicants will receive a monthly stipend of ₹20,000 along with expert mentorship and other benefits.

Sewa International* is a non-profit organization promoting voluntarism internationally, especially among children, youth, women, and energetic senior citizens. They strive to build an international network of non-profit organizations and promote philanthropy from the grassroots level to the corporate sector.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • be in the age group of 21-30 years
  • have a minimum of 1 year of volunteer experience
  • have no language constraint based on project locations
Benefits

The selected candidates will receive the awards in the following manner:

  • A monthly stipend of ₹20,000.
  • A grant amount of ₹1,75,000 on the successful completion of the fellowship.
  • A certificate on the successful completion of the 2 years of fellowship
  • The respective host organisations will bear the expenses of food and accommodation for the fellows during the fellowship.
Documents
  • Identity proof such as Aadhaar card/Voter id card/Birth certificate etc.
  • Marksheets
  • Essays about the candidates and their interests (not exceeding the word limit of 600 and 300 respectively)
How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the fellowship using the steps listed below:-
Step 1:
Click the ‘Apply Now’ button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard and fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note - If already registered, log in using the registered email ID.)
Step 3: Navigate to the ‘Apply Now’ button on the top right-hand side of the page and click on it.
Step 4: Read the details, fill in the required details, and click the ‘Sign Me Up’ button.
Step 5: The application form link will be sent to the registered email.
Step 6: Click on the application form link, fill in all the required details, upload the necessary documents, and submit.

Candidates will be shortlisted based on the three-staged selection process -

  • Knowing One Another
    • Nomination/Self-application
    • Statement of Purpose in the form of video essay
  • Assessing the Knowledge and Skills
    • Individual field assignments
    • Real-world problem solving
    • Rigour for community work
    • Personal conversation
  • Temperament Evaluation: Building Bharat Camp
    • Behavioural/Psychometric analysis
    • Vision for their district
    • Collaborative working
    • Personal conversation
Terms and Conditions
  • Each fellow would be assigned a community, and a project to work on for the first year of the fellowship.
  • These projects would be part of the partner organisations' work in the area and would vary from health, education, livelihoods, social businesses, tribal development, etc.
  • The fellow aspirant should have a deep belief in having a reason for their lives. Ideal fellow aspirants would be optimists/realists who realize that life has a purpose, and they must live their life to find and fulfil it.
  • The fellow aspirant should have a deep inner desire to go beyond the self in the pursuit of service.
  • The fellow aspirant should be passionate about social development.
