About The Program
SERB-POWER Mobility (SPM) Grant 2023 is an opportunity offered by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (Government of India) to female Indian Scientists, Engineers, and Technologists to build capacity, knowledge and skill enhancement at the global level. The program provides opportunities for candidates to undertake collaborative research and gain exposure to excellent research facilities at the international level. A total of 25 mobility grants will be awarded per year amounting up to USD 250 which will include subsistence allowance, accommodation and other benefits. Selected candidates will also be allowed to visit and research at the leading institutions/universities across the world for 1-3 months.

To be eligible, an applicant must -
- be a woman scientist who has an ongoing POWER grant or POWER fellowship of SERB
- not exceed the age limit of 57 years
- have a letter of support from the overseas host institution along with the application
Benefits
The selected candidates will receive the following benefits:
- Travel: A round-trip lowest economy fare for the shortest route for travelling to the selected institutions/universities.
- Accommodation: USD 100 per day for the first month (30 days) and USD 75 per day for the remaining research period (up to another 2 months).
- Subsistence Allowance: USD 75 per day for a maximum period of 3 months.
- Contingencies and Related Travel Costs: Selected scientists will receive an allowance equivalent to USD 250 to cover the expenditure of visa fees, medical insurance, domestic travelling, airport transfers and other contingencies.

How can you apply?
Eligible candidates can apply for the position using the steps listed below-

Step 5: Click on the ‘New User’ button. (Note- Registered users can use valid credentials to log in.)
Step 6: Fill in all the required details to complete the registration. (Note - A confirmation mail will be sent to the registered email address. Click on the URL provided in the mail to confirm registration.)
Step 7: After successful registration, fill all the mandatory fields in the profile details section under 'User Profile' which includes biodata (as per the defined template), photo, institute address, etc. and submit.

- The application for consideration under the SERB-POWER Mobility (SPM) Grant Program can be submitted through the SERB online portal only when the call for proposals is made.
- The applicant has to apply through the online portal in the prescribed format.
- The maximum duration of the abroad visit is limited to 3 months.
- The rules governing the payment of salary, leave, medical, gratuity, GPF and pension etc. of the organization/institution/university to which the fellow belongs would continue to be applicable as per their institutional norms. SERB will bear no liability on any of these.
- The candidates selected under this programme should commence their research in an overseas institution within three months from the date of the offer letter, and if not, the offer will automatically stand withdrawn and no correspondence will be entertained thereafter.
- Applicant must submit the endorsement letter duly signed by the head of the organization/ institute where the applicant is employed.
- The candidate should also submit a letter of approval for the research plan from the host.
- A copy of the acceptance letter is needed from the host institution.
