About The Program

SERB Early Career Research (ECR) Award 2018 invites applications from young researchers who have initiated their early research career in key areas of science and engineering.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

The candidate must: 

  • Hold a PhD degree in Science/Engineering/MD/MS in any area of medicine
  • Hold a regular academic/research position in a recognized academic institution/national laboratories/R&D institutions
  • Not be older than 37 years of age (the age is relaxed up to 3 years for SC/ST/OBC/Physically challenged and women candidate)
Benefits
  • It is a one-time award which grants up to INR 50 lakhs in three years.
  • The grant covers equipment cost, manpower, consumable cost, travel allowance and contingency grant other than overhead cost.
Documents

The following documents need to be uploaded at the time of application (in pdf format) only.

  • A recent CV
  • A certificate from Principal Investigator
  • Endorsement Letter from the Head of Institution
  • Class 10marksheet or Birth certificate for the proof of Date of Birth.
  • Category Certificate (in case of Age Relaxation)
How can you apply?

The application can be done online by following these steps:

Step 1: Visit the website to register using email id and personal details.
Step 2: A URL will be generated and sent to the registered email.
Step 3: Verify by clicking, log in with the username and password.
Step 4: Click on the update profile, fill the details including CV and photo, click on save.
Step 5: Select scheme "Early Career Research Award" and click on "Start Submission" button.
Step 6: Fill out and submit the form.

Selection Criteria
  • The selection will be based on the Expert Committee panel constituted by the Board. The applicants might be called for personal interview.

Proposal Details

The candidates need to enter the following facts while preparing the proposal -

  • Project Title (max 500 characters), Project summary (max 3000 characters), Keywords (max 6), Objectives of the project (max 1500 characters), Expected output and outcome of the proposal (max 1500 characters), Budget (Manpower, Consumables, Travel, Equipment, Contingency, Overheads).
  • Other relevant information of the proposal has to be uploaded in single PDF file not more than 10 MB as other technical documents (OTD).
