About The Program

Science and Engineering Research Board invites proposals for the scheme  Ayurvedic Biology Program 2018 from the applicants having a regular academic/research position in any recognised institution. The objective of this scheme is to promote research in ayurvedic biology.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

In order to be eligible, an applicant must:
Have a regular academic or research position in a recognised institution.

Note: The submission of a proposal can be done by an individual or a group of individuals having a Principal Investigator.

How can you apply?

In order to apply, follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Click here to register.
Step 2: Log in and fill in all the details in Profile detail section under User Profile.
Step 3: Enter all the details related to the proposal.
Step 4: Upload the required documents in single pdf as OTD. Note: The file size should not be more than 10 kb.
Note: All CO-PIs associated with the proposal need to register and will have to fill all the mandatory fields in the Profile detail section after login.

  • Endorsement Letter from the Head of Institution

  • Prakriti and human genomics.
  • Role of pathya and nutritional sciences in health and disease.
  • Rasayana and degenerative diseases especially of the central nervous and musculoskeletal systems.
  • Physiological, immunological and biochemical correlates of traditional Ayurvedic procedures such as Panchakarma.

Q. What is the main objective of the AB program?
A. The main objective of the AB program is to promote the application of basic sciences towards the investigation of Ayurvedic concepts, procedures and products with the materials and methods of Molecular Biology, Immunology and Biological Chemistry.

Q. How is the Project Proposal submitted under AB program different from those supported by the ministry of Ayush?
A.  AB program confines itself to the subjects indicated in Question 2. It excludes herbal drug development, clinical research including clinical trials for safety and efficacy of drugs and medical procedures.
