Senior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship (JBNSTS) 2023 is an opportunity offered by the Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS)* to Class 12 passed-girl students. The selected candidates will receive INR 4,000 per month and other benefits.
*Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), Kolkata is an Autonomous Registered Society under West Bengal Society Registration Act XXI of 1860 (No.S/4353 of 1960-61). The organisation is promoted by the Government of West Bengal and administered by a Governing Body with representatives from the State Government, Academics and Industry.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:
- be a girl student
- be a domicile of West Bengal
- have passed Class 12 in the year 2023
- be studying B.Sc.(Hons.), Engineering or Medicine at undergraduate level in any institution, registered in West Bengal
Note -
- The applicants who have passed H.S. or equivalent examination before 2023 are not eligible to apply.
- Students pursuing B.Sc. Pass course/ Diploma course/ B.Sc. Nursing course are not eligible to apply.
Benefits The selected candidates will receive INR 4,000 per month and an annual book grant of INR 5,000 for 4/5 years (till completion of B.Tech./B.E./MBBS/BS- MS/M.Sc. degree).

- A research grant amounting to INR 80,000 (INR 60,000 and INR 20,000) per annum is awarded to JBNSTS Senior Scholars till completion of Master's degree in Basic Science curriculum vis-a-vis DST INSPIRE norms and regulation, Government of India.

- High-resolution recent passport-size photograph in jpg/jpeg format [Photo size - within 100 KB]
- Scan copy of marksheet of Class 10 examination in jpeg/pdf format (size - 1 MB)
- SScan copy of marksheet of Class 12 examination in jpeg/pdf format (size - 1 MB)
How can you apply? Eligible candidates can apply for the opportunity by following the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
Step 2: Click the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note - If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email Id)
Step 3: Navigate to 'Senior Talent Search Test/Senior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti 2023' and click on it.
Step 5: Read the details carefully, navigate to 'Apply online for Senior Talent Search Test/Senior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti 2023' at the bottom of the page and click on it.
Step 6: Fill in the required details, upload the required documents in the prescribed format and submit.Note - The applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of INR 100 (Note - Respective transaction charges are applicable as per Govt. rules).

Selection Criteria
It is a three-phased test involving a written test (1st phase), an interview (2nd phase) and Scientific Creativity Test (3rd and final phase). Only the shortlisted students from each phase will be called for the next phase.
Results will be declared after every phase of the examination.
