About The Program

Scholarship to BC/MBC/DNC Students, Tamil Nadu 2023-24 is an opportunity offered by the BC, MBC & Minorities Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu to BC/MBC/DNC students pursuing UG/PG courses in IIT, IIM, IIT, NIT and other central universities. The selected students will receive a scholarship reimbursement of tuition fees, special fees, exams, and other compulsory fees, or ₹2,00,000 per year (whichever is less).

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible, an applicant must: 

  • be a domicile of Tamil Nadu
  • belong to the Backward Classes (BC), Most Backward Classes (MBC), and Denotified Communities (DNC) 
  • be enrolled in UG/PG courses in IIT, IIM, IIT, NIT and other central universities
  • have an annual family income of not more than ₹2,50,000 
Benefits

The selected students will receive a scholarship reimbursement of tuition fees, special fees, exams and other compulsory fees, or ₹2,00,000 per year (whichever is less).

Documents

The applicants are required to submit self-attested copies of the following documents:

  • Aadhaar card
  • Birth certificate
  • Domicile certificate
  • Income certificate
  • Class 12 marksheet
  • Community certificate
  • Admission order copy
  • Identity card from the institution
  • Bonafide certificate from the institution
  • Fess paid receipt copies for the year 2023-23
  • Marks obtained in the entrance exam to get admission to college
  • First page of the bank passbook clearly showing account number and IFS code

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship by following the below-mentioned steps:

Selection Criteria

The candidates will be selected based on the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria.

If there are more applications than available spots, eligible students will be shortlisted based on their marks in their Class 12 public exams.
