Sanskriti Foundation invites applications from eminent artists for the Pt. Vasant Thakar Memorial Fellowship in Indian Classical Music. Artists who are well established and highly talented in classical music and who are richly deserving of wider recognition as both gurus and performers are requested to apply. The objective of the Fellowship is to recognize and provide a platform to excellent lesser-known artists and to give them the opportunity to be presented to a larger audience. The Fellowship carries a grant of INR 1 Lakh.
Sanskriti - Pt. Vasant Thakar Memorial Fellowship
DeadlineAlways Open Eligibility Indian Nationals from any genre of Indian Classical Music (Vocal or Instrumental) are eligible for the fellowship, especially proposals that promote the objectives of the program are welcome.
Benefits The selected fellows will receive a grant worth INR 1 Lakh which will be disbursed in two instalments in the following way:
- The first instalment of INR 50,000 will be given at the time of commencement of the fellowship.
- The second instalment of INR 50,000 will be given at the time of submission of the complete project report of the fellow when the fellow may be requested to give a recital.
Documents The following documents are required to be attached along with the application:
- An updated curriculum vitae/resume of not more than 2 pages long
- A short synopsis of the project proposal
- Few samples of previous works

Step 1: Mention full postal and contact details in a mail along with an email id.
Step 2: The title should be "Sanskriti-Pt Vasant Thakar Memorial Fellowship" on the envelope if sent by post or as the subject if sent via mail.
Step 3: Attach the required documents.

Important Dates
The applications for Sanskriti - Pt. Vasant Thakar Memorial Fellowship will be accepted throughout the year.
Terms and Conditions
- The duration of the Fellowship will be 10 months followed by a performance in Delhi.
- The applicant will have to sign an agreement with Sanskriti Pratishthan pertaining to a regular flow of work during the Fellowship period.
- All candidates should mail their CV and a short synopsis of their project proposal to the head office address given below:

- The candidate should not be holding another fellowship or working on any other project at the same time.
- The guru, if he or she wishes, may choose further to use the Fellowship amount to encourage his/her disciples to hone their skills.
