Indian Nationals from any genre of Indian Classical Music (vocal or instrumental) are eligible for the fellowship, proposals that promote the objectives of the program are especially welcome.
Benefits
The selected fellows will receive a grant worth ₹1,00,000 which will be disbursed in two installments in the following way:
- The first installment of ₹50,000 will be given at the time of commencement of the fellowship.
- The second installment of ₹50,000 will be given upon submission of the complete project report, and the fellow may be requested to give a recital at that time.
Documents
The following documents are required to be attached along with the application:
- An updated curriculum vitae/resume of not more than 2 pages long
- A short synopsis of the project proposal
- Few samples of previous works

Note:- When sending the application, write 'Sanskriti-Pt Vasant Thakar Memorial Fellowship' on the envelope if sent by post. If emailing the application, include this title in the subject line.
Important Dates
The applications for Sanskriti - Pt. Vasant Thakar Memorial Fellowship will be accepted throughout the year.
Terms and Conditions
- The duration of the Fellowship will be 10 months followed by a performance in Delhi.
- The applicant will have to sign an agreement with Sanskriti Pratishthan pertaining to a regular flow of work during the Fellowship period.
- The candidate should not be holding another fellowship or working on any other project at the same time.
- The guru, if he or she wishes, may choose further to use the Fellowship amount to encourage his/her disciples to hone their skills.
