About The Program

The RMIT University Vietnam PhD Scholarships 2018 is a programme where the RMIT University, Vietnam will sponsor four scholarships for pursuing PhD courses in its campus. Two of these scholarships will be reserved for female applicants. This 3-year scholarship program will cover 50% of the tuition fee of the student.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Have a Master's degree by research with distinction.
  • Have met the English language requirement of an IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
  • Have a strong research proposal for PhD.

In case of not fulfilling all the above requirements, the applicant must have previous publications or significant research experience to be eligible.

Note-
The current RMIT employees, current PhD students or former PhD students will not be eligible.

Benefits

The selected students will be eligible to receive a sponsorship of 50% of tuition fees for the maximum duration of their candidature.

Documents
  • PhD application form.
  • Certified copy of national ID or passport.
  • Certified or original copies of academic transcripts and graduation certificates for all programs, currently or previously enrolled in.
  • Curriculum vitae in English.
  • Evidence of English language proficiency.
  • Any documentation relating to selection tasks.
  • Curriculum vitae in English.
  • A statement from the employer describing the working arrangements during the candidature.
  • The PhD research proposal with two research supervisor names.
  • Two photographs taken within the last six months (3x4 cm).
  • Receipt of a non-refundable application fee of VND 2.240.000.
  • Other documents as per the instructions in the PhD application form.

Note: All the documents should be in English translation and the documents submitted will not be returned.

Selection Criteria

The selection, as well as the ranking of applicants, is based on a ranking model that has been approved by the RMIT Vietnam PhD Enrolment Committee.

  • Among the four scholarships offered, two will be reserved for female applicants and the remaining two will be open for all regardless of the gender.
  • The duration of the scholarship can be extended up to 6 months from the initial 3 years in case of satisfactory progress.
  • Current RMIT employees, current PhD students or former PhD students are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • This scholarship is only valid for RMIT University, Vietnam.
  • The scholarship cannot be converted to cash or transferred under any scenario.
