About The Program

The CUNY Graduate School of Journalism invites applications from mid-career journalists for Resilience Journalism Fellowship program, scheduled for October 22 -27, will focus on the science of climate change and resilience. In this program, up to 15 journalists will gather in New York City for six days of study and discussion as part of the new Resilience Journalism Fellowship.

To be eligible for the fellowship, a candidate should fall into either of the following categories -

  • Journalists who are employed by a news organization or freelance full-time as writers, producers, editors, photographers, or multimedia reporters.
  • Journalism innovators whose ideas have potential to alter the journalism landscape in a fundamental way.
  • Applicants should have at least five years of full-time professional experience.  

Note: In special cases, the applicants having less experience can also be considered if they have demonstrated outstanding journalistic achievement. Applications from international journalists who are proficient in speaking and writing English are encouraged.

Terms and Conditions
  • The fellowship grant covers lodging, tuition and reasonable travel costs along with meals. 
  • Financial support for the Resilience Fellowship program is provided by The Rockefeller Foundation.
  • The six days fellowship program will also include kayaking in Jamaica Bay, bicycle riding on city streets and searching across New York for solutions to some of the world's most difficult environmental problems.
