About The Program

Research Fellowships on Public Health and Adolescence 2018 invites applications from the students pursuing MD/MS/ Ph.D. degree program in a relevant discipline of social science, public health, medical science and allied areas. The main objective of this fellowship is to promote and develop research adolescent health and development.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
  • The candidate must be pursuing full-time MD/MS/ Ph.D. degree program from a recognised university/institution in India.
  • The candidate must be studying a relevant discipline in social science, public health, medical science such as Pediatrics, Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Psychiatry, Dermatology, or Community Medicine and allied areas.
  • The applicant must not be more than 40 years of age.
Benefits

Under this fellowship scheme, 10 fellows will be selected which will include 5 MD students and 5 Ph.D. students.
The selected candidates receive a fellowship amount of up to INR 1.5 Lakh for all research activities. Up to INR 50,000 are granted for publication support in the peer-reviewed national/international journal.

  • Resume of applicant's guide/co-guide along with publications in relevant areas of research 
  • A short note of maximum 500 words describing the relevance of this fellowship for the applicant's career advancement in adolescent health and development

Note: There must be written 'Application/Proposal for Fellowship' on top of the envelope carrying the completed form. 

Selection Criteria

The fellows will be selected on the basis of their academic credentials and the proposal submitted by them. All the applications will be reviewed by a screening committee. The applications shortlisted by the screening committee will then be sent to a panel of experts in the area of research who will evaluate them on the following parameters:

  • Relevance of the topic
  • Clarity of the research question and scope
  • Study design/Methodology for data collection
  • Background of the Candidate and Guide/Principal investigator (PI)
  • Institutional Ethical Clearance

Upon final selection, the candidates, principal investigator and institution/university will be intimated through email/registered mail. Also, the names of the fellows will be displayed on the website of MAMTA.

Terms and Conditions
  • The applicants must submit two hard and one soft copy of the completed application form along with the required documents.
  • The fellows and principal investigators must submit progress reports on a quarterly basis in case of MD students and on an annual basis in case of Ph.D. students.
  • The maximum duration of the fellowship will be one year for the proposed research topic.
