About The Program

QUT University, Australia invites applications for QUT National Tree Genomics Program PhD Scholarships 2020 from PhD applicants. The aim of this scholarship program is to support the research study of eligible candidates. Selected candidates will receive fully-funded scholarships that include tuition, stipend and a living allowance for three years, indexed annually (AUD 28,092 in 2020).

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Have a bachelor's degree with first-class honours or a research master's degree with a substantial research component
  • Have excellent writing and communication skills
  • Have demonstrated ability to work well in teams and individually

  • Living allowance for 3 years indexed annually (AUD 28,092 for 2020)

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on the eligibility criteria.

Terms and Conditions
  • International students may also receive a research degree tuition fee sponsorship.
  • The PhD projects will focus on understanding the genetic regulation of flowering, phase change and shoot architecture in five target crops: avocado, macadamia, citrus, almond, and mango
  • Candidates will use a range of bioinformatics and molecular biology tools to test the genes involved in these processes.
  • Applicants will need to meet the QUT entry and English proficiency requirements set out in our application guide.
