Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Chair Fellowship 2019 is inviting applications from postdoctoral students to pursue research on "Integral Humanism" in the Department of Social Science, BHU. The selected scholars will receive a scholarship worth INR 28,000 per month and a contingency grant of INR 20,000 per annum for 2 years of research. The fellowship aims to encourage top social science scholars to pursue a regular career in teaching and research in the field of Social Science. These studies are expected to contribute to theoretical and conceptual advancement in sociology, political science and economics.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility Interested candidates should have high potential and promise for conducting full-time research on specific themes and issues. To be eligible, a candidate must:
- Be below the age of 45 on the date of the application
- Possess a PhD degree in one of the social science disciplines: sociology, political science and economics
Benefits - The selected fellows will receive a fellowship worth INR 28,000 per month for 2 years
- A contingency grant of INR 20,000 per annum
Note: It must be noted that only one fellowship will be provided.
Documents - Abstract of the Proposal (up to 500 words)
- Detailed Research Proposal (maximum 3000 words)
- A brief academic CV (up to three pages)
- Self-attested matriculation certificate and graduation/post graduation/M Phil mark sheets
- Self-attested copy of PhD degree

Selection Criteria
The fellow will be selected based on merit in the PhD examination and the candidate's research career.

Terms and Conditions
- The selected fellow will be working under the guidance of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Chair Professor, Faculty of Social Sciences, Banaras Hindu University.
- Research proposals and final reports should be either in English or Hindi.
- The fellowship is a full-time research work.
- The postdoctoral research work should be different from the PhD work done by the candidate.
- The Chair reserves the right to publish the fellowship report funded by it.
