- The scholars will be selected on the basis of merit list.
- The merit list for undergraduate or integrated degree course will be prepared based on the average percentage of scores obtained by the candidate in class 12th examination in Hindi/English (better of the two) and best of three out of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.
- The merit list for MSc degree course will be prepared based on the average percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in BSc/BA course in three years.
- In case of any tie, the preference will be given to -
- Girl students
- Language score (better of English/Hindi in class 12th board)
- Students younger in age

About The Program
Promotion of Science Education (POSE) Scholarship Scheme 2018-19 is a merit-based scholarship scheme to encourage meritorious students towards science education and to support them for the continuation of their science education up to higher level. The applications are being invited from meritorious students who have passed their class 12th in science or have completed their graduation in science.
The scholarship will be provided to students of 3-year BSc/4-year BS/5-year integrated MS/MSc course and 2-year MSc course who have opted for basic and natural science subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Statistics, Astrophysics, Geology, Astronomy, Electronics, Botany, Astrophysics, Zoology, Anthropology, Biochemistry, Geochemistry, Geophysics, Oceanic Sciences and Atmospheric Sciences.

An applicant must -
- Have taken admission in any of the following courses during the year 2018 -
- 3-year BSc/4-year BS or 5-year integrated MSc/MS program in basic and natural sciences at IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER, DAE-CBS or in any college/university in India
- 2-year MSc program in basic and natural science
- Have passed class 10th and 12th board examination from a school situated in Haryana with minimum 85% marks for Haryana Board School and 90% marks for other boards like CBSE/ICSE etc. in class 12th (for an undergraduate degree or integrated degree in Science)
- Have passed class 10th, 12th and BSc/BA (BA for MSc Mathematics) from a school/college/university situated in Haryana with minimum 75% marks in BSc/BA (for MSc degree course)
Benefits
- A total of 150 scholarships will be given to students pursuing 3-year BSc/4-year BS/5-year integrated MSc/MS courses and 50 scholarships will be given to students pursuing 2-year MSc course.
- The amount of scholarships is -
- INR 4,000 per month to students of 3-year BSc course.
- INR 6,000 per month to students of 2-year MSc course.
- If the student is studying in 4-year BS or 5-year integrated MSc/MS course the amount of scholarship for 1st to 3rd year will be INR 4,000 per month whereas the amount for the fourth and fifth year will be INR 6,000 per month.
- One-time research mentorship grant will also be given to selected students of INR 12,000 in 3-year BSc program, INR 17,000 in 4-year BS program, INR 22,000 in 5-year integrated MSc program and INR 10,000 in 2-year MSc program.

The candidates are required to upload self-attested copies of all the certificates from class 10th onwards with the application, namely -
- Signature of the applicant
- Self-attested copy of Aadhaar number
- Photograph of the applicant
- Certificate of class 10th
- Certificate of class 12th
- Certificate of BSc/BA (applicable for students applying for 2-year MSc)
- Enrollment certificate from Head/Principal/Director/Registrar of the college/university/institute (Given in Annexures)
- Rural area school certificate of class 11th and 12th (if claiming for 3% additional weightage)(Given in Annexures)
- Declaration of POSE scholarship (Given in Annexures)

Step 4: Once registered, the applicants will receive verification link on their email along with a Verification Code and Reference ID.
Step 5: Click on the verification link and submit the verification code to verify.
Step 6: Login again using registered login ID and password.
Step 7: Click on apply for services and view all available services.
Step 8: Search for POSE in the search tab.
Step 9: The scholarship will appear on the list. Click on the scholarship to complete the application.
Step 10: Fill in all required details and finally submit the form.

- The mentorship grant will be given to scholars who will do a project work under a professor/research supervisor (Mentor) during the vacation period in any recognized university/institute/research laboratory in India or abroad.
- The students who are doing a project in India will get the reimbursement of expenses related to travel, accommodation and consumable expenses within the mentorship grant.
- Students who are studying at the 4th or 5th year of the scholarship are allowed to carry out a research project in any institute/university/laboratory abroad by utilizing the mentorship grant.
- The students receiving this scholarship will not be entitled to any other scholarship.
- Only online mode of application is acceptable.
- The scholarship is applicable for students pursuing regular courses only. The students studying privately or through correspondence/distance mode will not be considered eligible for the scholarship.
