About The Program

Profugo invites applications for the Profugo Field Fellowship 2019 from young professionals to have the opportunity and have hands-on experience in working in the field of international development. Profugo’s prime goal is to provide access to the tools that enable individuals to build a better quality of life. The selected fellows will spend 6 months to 1 year working in Prashanthagiri Village in Wayanad, India. The fellows with a receive a monthly stipend and other benefits during the term of the fellowship program.

No eligibility requirements have been laid down for the fellowship, but an ideal candidate should have the following qualities: 

  • Entrepreneurial skills
  • Should be a team player
  • Should have a background in education/engineering/business/agriculture
  • Should be flexible and open-minded
  • Must be willing to take an initiative
  • Must be knowledgeable and passionate about business development, women empowerment, social entrepreneurship, sustainable engineering, farming, agriculture, natural resource management, education or teaching
  • An experience in Cross-culture will be preferred

  • A modest stipend
  • Travel costs to field placement

Responsibilities of the fellows:
  • The fellows will take weekly conference calls and report to Profugo HQ regarding their schedule.
  •  The fellows will need to provide regular project development updates.
  • They must clearly understand the vision of the Center of Development and design programs to further Profugo vision.
  • The fellows should build strategic partnerships with organisations to enhance the knowledge and development of the Children’s Programs, Community Education, Natural Resource Management initiatives, Sustainable Farming Practices, or income generation programs.
  • Implement projects so as to benefit community members.
  • The fellows should conduct themselves in a way that is representative of Profugo.
