About The Program

PRL Summer Internship Programme 2025 is an internship programme started by Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), an independent unit of the Department of Space, Government of India. This internship program will provide a platform for the selected interns to be associated with PRL scientists for mutual benefits, and help them to choose a career path by applying theory to practice. The selected interns will receive an accommodation of ₹120 per day.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an Indian citizen
  • be pursuing the UG or PG course in the Science field 
  • have scored a minimum of 60 or a CGPA of 6.32 on a scale of 10 at all levels
  • have basic proficiency in subjects like Physics and Maths

Note: Preference will be given to candidates who are KVPY/DST INSPIRE fellows/Summer Research Fellows selected by the three National Science Academies in India.

Benefits

Selected interns will receive accommodation at a low rate ₹120 per day at the institute.

Note:- 

  • Delay in joining will not be considered for the accommodation to be reserved.
  • The accommodations will be provided on a first-come come first-served basis.

Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-

Selection Criteria

The students will be selected based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

Terms and Conditions
  • The final decision regarding student selection with the concerned faculty member, contingent upon meeting the stipulated minimum criteria.
  • Selected applicants must report to the Head of Academic Services at the Dean's Office of PRL, presenting official letters from their respective colleges/universities.
  • Towards the end of the internship, students will present their project work in a seminar (online or offline) for expert review.
  • The results and findings from the project work are the exclusive property of PRL and cannot be used or published in any form without prior written authorization from PRL.
  • The total duration of the internship will be calculated based on PRL's official working days (Monday to Friday, excluding scheduled holidays).
  • Students selected for the final semester project training will be issued temporary PRL Identity Cards, which must be displayed visibly at all times while on PRL premises.
  • PRL canteen facilities are available for interns on a payment basis at the prevailing rates.
  • The training program at PRL does not cover medical or transport expenses incurred by the participants.
