About The Program
The PRISM National Fellowship 2026 is a collaborative initiative by Project EduAccess, the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bengaluru, and the Indian Society of Developmental Biologists (InSDB). The fellowship is a transformative research opportunity crafted to empower the next generation of life science researchers from underrepresented and marginalised communities across India. Selected fellows will be fully funded.
EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
To be eligible, an applicant must:
- be currently enrolled in a Master's degree programme in any science subject, OR be in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor's degree in science
- be disadvantaged due to social position, economic barriers, geographic location, or similar systemic factors
- have a genuine passion for life sciences, particularly in the areas of developmental biology, genetics, or bioinformatics
Note: Applications are strongly encouraged from students belonging to underrepresented communities, including SC, ST, OBC, PwD, religious minorities, women, gender minorities, and students from Northeast India.
Benefits
Selected fellows will receive a fully-funded laboratory placement at a leading research institution across India along with the hands-on experience working on live research projects in developmental biology, genetics, or bioinformatics under senior faculty mentors.
