About The Program

Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for RPF/RPSF 2018-19 invites applications from the dependent wards and widows of Ex/Serving RPF/RPSF personnel. The key objective of the scholarship scheme is to encourage professional and technical education for the wards and widows of Ex/Serving RPF/RPSF personnel who are below the rank of Gazetted officer.

An applicant must -
  • Be a ward or widow of Ex/Serving RPF/RPSF personnel below the rank of Gazetted officer
  • Be pursuing a professional or technical degree course recognized by respective Government Authorities like AICTE, MCI, UGC, NCTE, etc. 
  • Have obtained 60% and above in MEQ (Minimum Educational Qualification) i.e. class 12th, diploma or graduation
Note: The scholarship is applicable only for two wards per family.  
Benefits
A total of 150 scholarships will be given under this scholarship scheme comprising -
  • INR 2,000 per month for male students
  • INR 2,250 per month for female students
Documents
  • Service certificate of the serving personnel issued by respective offices for category IV. 
  • Copy of PPO/Discharge Certificate/book for categories I, II, III. 
  • Attested copy of grade card/mark sheet of MEQ. 
How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through following steps -

Step 1: Click on New Student? Register Here
Step 2: Select the state of domicile, select the name of the scholarship the student is applying for, select scheme type, write the name, date of birth, mobile number, gender, email ID
Step 3: Provide the bank details (Bank name, IFS Code, Account Number)
Step 4: The mobile number will be verified and an OTP will be generated
Step 5: Login using OTP and fill the form
Step 6: An application ID and password will be generated. Use that for the future references.

Note: All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill only one application as multiple applications will lead to the cancellation of the form.

Selection Criteria
The preference will be given to students in the following category order -
  • Category I - Wards and widows of ex-RPF/RPSF personnel who died in harness due to encounter with terrorists or with criminals on duty. 
  • Category II - Wards and widows of ex-RPF/RPSF personnel who died in the tenure of their service.
  • Category III - Wards of ex-RPF/RPSF personnel who have retired. 
  • Category IV- Wards of serving RPF/RPSF personnel.

Terms and Conditions
  • The scholarship scheme is tenable for one to five years depending on the duration of the course. 
  • 50% of the scholarships are reserved for female candidates. In case of ay shortfall in the fresh cases, the scholarship numbers shall not be adjusted from girls/boys.
  • All selected applicants will receive a personal letter from Honourable Prime Minister in the appropriate language. 
  • The scholarships will be disbursed to selected students in their respective bank accounts through the Public Finance Management System (PFMS) under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)
