About The Program
Pre-Matric Scholarship to SC Students, West Bengal 2023-24 is an initiative of the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal for students of Class 9 and 10. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to SC students studying in Class 9 and 10 to minimize the incidence of dropout. The selected candidates will receive a monthly scholarship up to INR 750 and adhoc grant of INR 1,000 per annum.

To be eligible for the scholarship, a candidate must -
- be a domicile of West Bengal
- belong to the SC category
- be a student of Class 9 and 10
- have an annual income of less than INR 2,00,000
Benefits
The selected candidates will receive the following benefits -
| Hostler | Day Scholar |
| INR 750 per month for 10 months (INR 350 from the Government of India and INR 400 from the State Government) | INR 150 per month for 10 months |
| Adhoc Grant INR 1,000 per annum | Adhoc Grant INR 750 per annum |
