The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India invites applications for the Pre-Matric Scholarship from students of class 1 to 10. The aim of the scholarship is to support the education of children whose parents/guardian are engaged in occupations involving hazardous cleaning. Under the scholarship scheme, financial support is provided to students who are the domiciles of Assam.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility The scholarship caters to the children/wards of those involved in hazardous cleaning. Thus the parents/guardian of students must be Indian nationals belonging to any of the following categories:
- Persons who are Manual Scavengers as defined under section 2(I) (g) of Manual Scavengers Act 2013
- Tanners & flayers
- Waste pickers
- Persons engaged in hazardous cleaning as defined in Section 2(I) (d) of Manual Scavengers Act 2013
Note: The students must be the domiciles of Assam studying in class 1 to 10.
Benefits The students will receive the following benefits-
- A scholarship of INR 225 per month (for day scholars) and INR 700 per month (for hostellers) for 10 months
- Ad-hoc grant of INR 750 per annum (for day scholars) and INR 1000 per annum (for hostellers)
- Additional allowances for students with disabilities

Documents The eligible candidates will need to submit a certificate from District Social Welfare officer, identified officer of the local body, Civic Agency or any such authority as designated by the State Government.
How can you apply? Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through following steps -
Step 1: Click on New Student? Register Here.
Step 2: Select the state of domicile, select the name of the scholarship the student is applying for, select scheme type, write the name, date of birth, mobile number, gender, email ID.
Step 3: Provide the bank details (Bank name, IFS Code, Account Number).
Step 4: The mobile number will be verified and an OTP will be generated.
Step 5: Login using OTP and fill the form.
Step 6: An application ID and password will be generated. Use that for future references.Note: All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill only one application as multiple applications will lead to the cancellation of the form.

Terms and Conditions
- The students as hostellers will be covered from class 3 to 10.
- The students as day scholars will be covered form class 1 to 10.
- During the course of studies, students may not be allowed to take up employment to help their parents.
- The scholarship will be discontinued in case the student fails to secure annual promotion.
- The students will not be allowed to avail the benefits of any other scholarship during the tenure of this scholarship.
- The scholarship may be suspended in case the student violates school discipline or any other terms and conditions.
