About The Program
Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students, Manipur 2023-24 is an initiative of the Government of Manipur, for SC students studying in Class 9 and 10. The main objective of this scholarship is to support students' education and reduce the drop-out in the transition from elementary to secondary education. The selected candidates will receive a scholarship of up to ₹1,000 and other grants.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be an Indian citizen
- be a domicile of Manipur
- belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category of the state
- be a regular, full-time student studying in Class 9 and 10 in a government school or a school recognised by the government or a Central/State Board of Secondary Education
- have an annual parent(s)/guardian income of less than ₹2,50,000
Note:-
- The applicants must not be receiving any other centrally-funded pre-matric scholarship.
- The house rent allowance received by a student's parents will not be counted as their income for tax purposes if it meets the requirements for income tax exemption. In simpler terms, if the house rent allowance qualifies for tax exemption, it won't be included when calculating the parents' taxable income. This means they will pay less tax overall.
Benefits
The selected students will receive the following benefits:-

The students with disabilities studying in private un-aided schools will receive additional allowances as below:-

Note:- The disability as defined under the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation Act, 1995) Act has to be certified by competent medical authority of the State Govt./UT Administration.

How can you apply?
Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to 'Applicant Corner' and click on the 'New Registration' tab.
Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Continue' button.
Step 5: Select the respective Aadhaar option, enter mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, and then submit.
Step 6: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the registration process.
Step 7: Now click on the 'Fresh Application' tab and log in using the application ID and password.
Step 8: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents, and submit the application.
Note - All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.

Terms and Conditions
- The scholarship will be payable for 10 months in an academic year.
- Students receiving this scholarship can only avail it for one year per class. If a student repeats a class, they will not be eligible for the scholarship for that class again in the following year or any subsequent year.
- A scholarship may be cancelled if the recipient changes the course program or institution for which the scholarship was originally awarded.
- The scholarship is dependent on the satisfactory progress and conduct of the recipient.
- The recipient is liable to refund the scholarship amount if the student discontinues the study for which the scholarship was originally awarded.
- The provisions of this scheme can be changed at any time at the discretion of the Government of India.
- The scholarship of a student will be cancelled in case of discontinuation of studies due to personal reasons or in case of false information provided in the online application.
- The candidates who after passing one stage of education are studying in the same stage of education but in different subjects are not eligible.
- Students who live in one state but are studying in another state can still receive scholarships from their home state. They just need to apply to the appropriate authority in their home state. This means the state they belong to, not the state where they're currently studying.
For Renewal:
- The scholarship will be payable for 10 months in an academic year.
- The award once made will continue subject to good conduct and regularity in attendance. It will be renewed for Class 10 after the student passes Class 11.
