Pre Matric Scholarship for SC Students (Class 6 to 10) - Puducherry 2023-24 is a scheme implemented by Adi Dravidar Welfare Department, Puducherry to students studying in Classes 6 to 10 in the recognised institutions of the state. The objective of this scholarship scheme is to avoid the dropout of SC students at the matric level by providing them with financial assistance to pursue their education. The selected students will receive a scholarship amount of up to ₹ 250 per month for 10 months in an academic year.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must:
- belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category
- be a native of Puducherry by birth OR
- be a resident of the state for at least five continuous years
- be studying in Classes 6 to 10 in the schools recognised by the Government of Puducherry
- have an annual income of not more than ₹ 24,000 per annum (Note: the parents/guardian’s annual income must not exceed the below poverty line limit prescribed by the government)
Benefits The selected students will receive benefits as follows -
- For Class 6 to 8 - INR 150 per month
- For Class 9 and 10 - INR 250 per month
Documents - Domicile certificate
- A passport-size photograph (if required)
- Self-attested copies of certificates, diplomas, degrees, etc
- Caste certificate duly signed by an authorized Revenue Officer, not below the rank of Tehsildar
- Income declaration certificate from the parents/guardians
How can you apply? Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to 'Applicant Corner' and click on the 'New Registration' tab.
Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox and click on the 'Continue' button.
Step 5: Select the respective Aadhaar option, enter mobile number, captcha code, OTP, and then submit.
Step 6: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the registration process.
Step 7: Now click on the 'Fresh Application' tab and log in using the application ID and password.
Step 8: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit the application.Note - All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.

The candidates will be selected based on the fulfillment of the eligibility cirteria.

- The award once made will continue subject to good conduct and regularity in attendance.
- The provisions of this scheme can be changed at any time at the discretion of the Government of India.
- Bonafide students can benefit from this scheme as long as they maintain satisfactory academic progress i.e. they secure promotion to the next higher class annually.
- The scholarship is disbursed to the student through the concerned school. In case of false information being submitted, the scholarship will be revoked, and any received funds may be recovered at the discretion of the authority.
