About The Program

Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2023 is an initiative of the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India to financially help Indian children below 18 years of age. The awards will be given to children for their merit in innovation, scholastic, sports, arts, culture, social service, music or any other field which deserves recognition. The selected candidates will receive financial help up to INR 1 lakh, a citation and a certificate.

To be eligible, an applicant must - 

  • Bal Shakti Puraskar - 
    • Be an Indian citizen residing in India
    • Be above the age of (+5) years of age and not exceeding 18 years of age (as on 31st August of respective year)
    • Have excellence in Innovation/Social Service/Scholastic/Sports/Arts and culture (Note - Achievements that benefit society will be encouraged.) 

 

  • Bal Kalyan Puraskar - 
    • Be an Indian Citizen and residing in India
    • Have attained the age of 18 years or above (as on 31st August of respective year)
    • Have made an outstanding contribution in any of the following fields:
      • Child Welfare
      • Child Protection
      • Child Development
    • Have worked for the cause of children for not less than 7 years
Benefits

The selected candidates will get the award in the following manner -

  • Bal Shakti Puraskar - 
    • Each awardee will be given a medal and a cash prize of INR 1 lakh, book vouchers worth INR 10,000, a certificate and a citation
  • Bal Kalyan Puraskar -
    • A medal, a cash prize of INR 1 lakh, a citation and a certificate for each awardee
How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the puraskar by following the steps mentioned below -

Step 1: Click on the "Apply Now" below and read the details carefully.
Step 2: Fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note - If the applicant is already registered, kindly login using valid credentials.)
Step 4: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit.
Step 5: After successful submission, an acknowledgement slip with the application number will be generated.

Selection Criteria

The applications received are first scrutinized by the Screening Committee and the final selection is done by the National Selection Committee.

Terms and Conditions
  • Salaried officers of the Institutions will not be eligible for consideration under this category.
  • The awards will be announced on December 26 on ‘Veer Bal Diwas’.
  • The decisions of the National Selection Committee will be final.
  • The awards are to be received personally only by the awardee.
  • Normally the prizes shall not be presented posthumously except in cases of bravery under Bal Shakti Puraskar.
  • These awards are only for Indian Citizens.
  • The number of candidates will be decided by the National Selection Committee.
