About The Program

Post-Matric (Other Than Intermediate) Scholarship for OBC, Uttar Pradesh 2023-24 is an initiative of the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, for students pursuing studies at the graduation or higher level. The selected students will receive a tuition fee reimbursement of up to ₹50,000 or the actual fees paid, whichever is less.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an Indian citizen
  • be domiciled in Uttar Pradesh
  • belong to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category
  • be studying graduation, postgraduation, or higher level degree at a recognised institution/university
  • have an annual parent(s)/guardian income of less than ₹2,00,000 per annum from all sources

 

Note:- Students pursuing below courses are ineligible for the scholarship:

  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Course
  • Private Pilot License course
  • Training course of Sainik High School, Dehradun
  • All India and state-level pre-examination training
  • Correspondence courses and distance 
  • Course for Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
  • In courses conducted by private sector training institutes where certificates/marks are not awarded by any university, affiliating board, or authorised department, and the examination is not conducted by an authorised agency at a standardized level, i.e., in courses that lack uniform control and standardization
Benefits

The selected students will receive a reimbursement of the annual compulsory non-refundable fees, as approved by the competent authority for the respective courses, which will be provided to selected students in the following categories:

1 Technical courses (graduate/postgraduate) Up to ₹50,000 or actual fees paid, whichever is less
2 Non-technical/vocational courses (postgraduate) Up to ₹30,000 or actual fees paid, whichever is less
3 Undergraduate non-technical/vocational Up to ₹20,000 or actual fees paid, whichever is less
4 Technical/professional courses at the intermediate and equivalent level Up to ₹10,000 or actual fees paid, whichever is less

  • Residential proof including Electricity bill, Ration card, Voter ID, Aadhaar card, PAN, or Driving license
  • Caste certificate
  • A passport-size photograph
  • Annual family income certificate 
  • Marksheets/certificates of qualifying examinations
  • Current year fee receipt/admission letter
  • Domicile certificate
  • Birth certificate
  • Student ID proof
  • Bank passbook of the student
How can you apply?

Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below. 
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Students' tab on the top left-hand of the dashboard and click on the 'Registration' button (Note:- If the applicant is registered, kindly click on the 'Fresh Login' button and choose the scholarship).
Step 4: Click on the ' Postmatric Other Than Intermediate (Fresh)' link, under the 'For OBC Category' section.
Step 5: Fill in all required details to 'Register' and click on the Generate OTP button.  
Step 6: After successful registration, log in using valid credentials.
Step 7: Fill in the required details, upload the relevant documents, and click on the 'Submit' button.

The candidates will be selected based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

Terms and Conditions
  • For courses in private institutions where the fees aren't recognised by a competent authority, the government will reimburse students based on the below two amounts:

    • Minimum fee set by the government for the same course at a public university

    • The actual amount the student paid for the course

  • If a student receives a scholarship or fee reimbursement for a course but then abandons that course and enrolls in a different one, they will no longer be eligible for any scholarship or fee reimbursement in the first year of their new program.
