About The Program

Post Matric Scholarship for SC/OBC/EBC/PC/DNT Students 2018-19, Jammu & Kashmir invites applications from students belonging to SC (Scheduled Caste), OBC (Other Backward Classes), PC (Physically Challenged), EBC (Economically Backward Classes) and DNT (Denotified Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes) to carry out studies at post-matriculation level. The key objective of the scholarship is to provide suitable financial assistance to eligible students to enable them to complete their education without any financial constraint. 

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
An applicant must -
  • Be a domicile of Jammu & Kashmir
  • Belong to SC, OBC, EBC, PC or DNT category
  • Be pursuing studies at post-matriculation level (class 11 to PhD level) within or outside Jammu and Kashmir at a government or government recognized institution
  • Have an annual family income less than INR 1 Lakh per annum (for OBC, EBC and PC candidates) and less than INR 2.5 Lakh per annum (for SC and DNTs)

The scholarship includes -
  • Maintenance allowance
  • Payment of compulsory non-refundable fees 
Documents
  • Passport size photograph of the applicant
  • Permanent resident certificate
  • Fee receipt
  • Attested fee structure by Central/State Government (in the case of private recognised institutions)
  • Valid hotelier certificate issued by the institution
  • Promotion certificate - duly attested (for students who have passed the previous examination)
  • Income certificate of parents/guardian (for the year 2018-19)
  • Category certificate (for OBC, SC and DNTs)
  • Disability certificate (for PC students)
  • Aadhaar number
  • Copy of bank passbook 
  • A duly attested affidavit, in prescribed format 
How can you apply?
Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship online through following steps -
Step 1: Visit the State Portal.
Step 3: Click here to register.
Step 4: Fill in all required details and register. 
Step 5: Once registered, log in using the registered login ID and password.
Step 6: Fill in all necessary details and upload all supporting documents. 
Step 7: Finally, submit the application. 
Step 8: Once the online application is completed, the applicants are required to submit the hard copy of the completed application form along with Xerox of all supporting documents to the concerned Institution/College/University for verification. 
Important Dates
Last date to submit online and hard copies of application - 30 November 2018
Last date for verification/forwarding of verified applications to concerned District Social Welfare Office - 30 November 2018
Last date for scrutiny/verification of forwarded online applications with hard copies by concerned DSWO - 31 December 2018
Selection Criteria
The selection of students will be based on the availability of funds, academic merit and income.

  • For EBCs, the students belonging to the general category can apply for this scholarship. 
  • Having a mobile number and email id is mandatory to apply for the scholarship.
  • The preference will be given to students studying at government institutions. 
  • The candidates should not be in receipt of any other scholarship or stipend.
