About The Program

Post-Matric Scholarship for Persons with Disability, Maharashtra 2022-23 is an initiative of the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Government of Maharashtra to provide financial assistance to disabled students of Class 11 to Ph.D. level. The selected scholars will receive maintenance allowance and other benefits.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible, an applicant must - 

  • be disabled (40% or above)
  • be a resident of Maharashtra
  • be studying in a recognized university or recognized institute at post-matric level
Benefits

The selected students will receive the following benefits - 

  • Maintenance Allowance for Day Scholars
    • Group A - INR 550 per month
    • Group B and C - INR 530 per month
    • Group D - INR 300 per month
    • Group E - INR 230 per month
  • Maintenance Allowance for Hostellers
    • Group A - INR 1,200 per month
    • Group B and C - INR 820 per month
    • Group D - INR 570 per month
    • Group E - INR 380 per month
  • An additional allowance of INR 100 to blind candidates under Group A, B, and C; INR 75 to students under Group D and INR 50 to students under Group E
  • INR 500 for study tour whatever is applicable per year
  • Up to INR 600 per year for printing and typing (Note - Principal certificate is mandatory to avail it.)
  • All mandatory fees/compulsory payable fees (Tuition Fees, Exam Fees & other Fees) by the student to the institutes 

 

Note - The candidate studying in M.Phil and Ph.D. courses will receive a maintenance allowance as per Postgraduation Group A, B, and C.

How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps -
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
Step 2: Click on 'New Applicant Registration'. 
Step 3: Fill in all required details, verify the email and phone number.
Step 4: Complete the Aadhaar authentication process either through OTP or biometrics. 
Step 5: The candidates will receive an OTP on their registered mobile number if they opt for OTP authentication.
Step 6: Complete the registration process by filling in all the required details.
Step 7: Log in using the username and password. 
Step 8: Complete the scholarship application, upload the necessary documents and submit.

Selection Criteria

The candidates will be selected based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria. 

Terms and Conditions
  • The students studying in recognized institutes or colleges out of Maharashtra can also apply for this scholarship but they must be a resident of Maharashtra.
  • The scholarship will not be applicable if the candidate fails or quit the course.
  • The scholarship will not be applicable twice or a second time if the candidate applies to the HSC/SSC/Degree criteria.
  • The candidates can only apply for Shahu Maharaj Merit School Scholarship with this Scheme.
  • Candidates who are working full-time are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • The maintenance allowance will be given at hosteller rates to the students residing 
  • Students pursuing a postgraduation degree in medical subjects are not allowed to practice or work anywhere else.
  • The candidates will be eligible for an additional 1/3 amount of the maintenance allowance allowed for a hosteller who are residing in a Government hosteller & not receiving books and stationery from the hostel.
