About The Program

PM Yasasvi Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, Manipur 2024-25 is an initiative of the Department of Empowerment of Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, to financially support Other Backward Classes (OBC) students from Manipur. The scheme aims to help OBC students in Manipur complete their post-matriculation education. Selected candidates will receive an annual academic allowance and tuition fees of up to ₹10,000 each.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an Indian national
  • belong to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category
  • be enrolled in a recognised post-matriculation or post-secondary program
  • have an annual family income of not more than ₹2,50,000
Benefits

The selected candidates will receive the following awards:-

Group 1: Degree and postgraduate-level professional courses  10,000 10,000
Group 2: Other professional courses  leading to degree, diploma, certificate  8,000 5,000
Group 3: Graduate and postgraduate courses that are not covered under Group I & Group II  6,000 2,000
Group 4: All post-matriculation non-degree courses  5,000 -

 

Note:-

  • Students pursuing CA, ICWA, CS, or ICFA will be considered day scholars for the academic allowance.
  • Correspondence and online students are not eligible for the academic allowance.
  • Tuition fees will be paid to students enrolled in online or correspondence courses.
  • State Governments may choose to supplement the academic allowance with their own funds.

  • Caste certificate signed by an authorized Revenue Officer (RO), not below the rank of Tehsildar

How can you apply?

Eligible students can apply by following these steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below. 
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Now, click on the 'Login' button under the OTR option as it is required to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Step 5: Click on the 'New user? Register yourself' on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 6: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
Step 7: Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete the registration process.
Step 8: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. (Note:- This is a temporary registration number, students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the OTR process.)
Step 9: After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
Step 10: Select the scholarship, fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit.

Note:- All the applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form.  Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.

Terms and Conditions
  • 30% of the funds allocated are earmarked for girl students and 5% for students with disabilities. 
  • Students pursuing postgraduate courses in medicine are eligible to apply for the scholarship if they are not allowed to practice during the course tenure. 
  • The award once made will be payable up to the completion of the course subject to satisfactory academic performance and attendance of 75% in every academic year. The attendance will be verified through an Aadhaar-based attendance system.  
  • If a scholar is unable to appear in the annual examination owing to illness, the award may be renewed subject to the production of a medical certificate from a prescribed authority and acceptance of the same by the institution/college. 
  • If a student studying a Group 1 course fails an exam for the first time, they can still keep their scholarship. However, if they fail a second time or later, they will have to pay their own expenses until they pass and move on to the next level.
  • The students who after passing or failing an undergraduate/postgraduate degree in Arts, Commerce, or Science join any other recognised technical or professional degree/diploma/certificate courses are eligible. 
  • Only two boys of the same parent/guardian can receive this scholarship. However, this condition does not apply to the girls of the family. 
  • Change in the course of study will not be permitted.
  • The scholarship granted under the scheme will be renewed during the period of the first-year postgraduate course subject to good conduct and maintenance of prescribed attendance.
  • The scholarship will be renewed for the next year of study on receipt of an annual progress report to be granted by the administrative head of the University/Institution/College.
  • The scholarship of a student will be cancelled in case of discontinuation of studies due to personal reasons or in case of false information provided in the online application.
  • The candidates belonging to one state but studying in another state will be awarded a scholarship by the state to which they belong and submit their application to the competent authorities in that state.
  • Eligible students are not required to pay upfront tuition or hostel fees. They'll receive a freeship card from the government, allowing them to study without pre-paying. Once the student receives their scholarship funds, the institution will be notified and can collect any outstanding fees.
  • Students must apply for their freeship card on the relevant scholarship portal well before they expect to start their studies. They need to provide details like their Aadhaar number, the course they want to take (e.g., MBBS, B.Sc., Class 11), and a pledge to pay the institution's fees within 7 working days after receiving the scholarship amount. 

For Renewal:

  • The scholarship is payable for 10 months in an academic year. 
  • The continuation of the award will be based on good conduct and regularity in attendance.
