To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must-
- Be studying in class 11 or above (pursuing recognised post-matric and post-secondary courses)
- Have an annual family income not exceeding INR 1.5 lakh
- Belong to Other Backward Class (OBC) as notified by the government
- Be a domicile of Assam
- Have passed matriculation or higher secondary examination from a recognised university or board
The following are also eligible for the scholarship-
- Students studying through correspondence courses
- Employed students on leave without pay for the entire duration of a full-time course
- Students pursuing postgraduate courses in medicine if only they are not allowed to practice during the period of their course
Note: Students who have received coaching in any of the pre-examination training centres with financial assistance from the Government will not be eligible. Find more details here.
The scholarship covers the following-
- Fees for enrollment/registration, tuition, library, magazine, medical examination and other such fees
- Charges for study tours up to a maximum of INR 900 per annum
- Thesis typing and printing charges up to a maximum of INR 1000 for the research scholars
- Additional allowances to blind scholars in the form of 'Readers Charges' up to INR 175 per month
- Maintenance allowance as mentioned below-
- Students eligible under Group A will receive INR 750 per month (hostellers) and INR 350 per month (day scholars)
- Students eligible under Group B will receive INR 510 per month (hostellers) and INR 335 per month (day scholars)
- Students eligible under Group C will receive INR 400 per month (hostellers) and INR 210 per month (day scholars)
- Students eligible under Group D will receive INR 260 per month (hostellers) and INR 160 per month (day scholars)

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through following steps -
Step 1: Click on New Student? Register Here.
Step 2: Select the state of domicile, select the name of the scholarship the student is applying for, select scheme type, write the name, date of birth, mobile number, gender, email ID.
Step 3: Provide the bank details (Bank name, IFS Code, Account Number).
Step 4: The mobile number will be verified and an OTP will be generated.
Step 5: Login using OTP and fill the form.
Step 6: An application ID and password will be generated. Use that for future references.
Note: All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill only one application as multiple applications will lead to the cancellation of the form.
