About The Program

Post Matric Scholarship for EBC Students - Uttarakhand 2018-19 invites applications from students who are studying in class 11 to the postdoctoral level of studies and belong to economically backward classes (EBC). The key objective of the scholarship is to offer financial assistance to general category students belonging to economically backward classes to enable them to complete their studies at post-matriculation or post-secondary level.

An applicant must -
  • Be a domicile of Uttarakhand state and belong to General category
  • Be pursuing studies at post-matric or post-secondary level (class 11 to postdoctoral level) at a government recognised institution   
  • Have an annual family income of less than INR 1 Lakh
Note: Students pursuing their studies through correspondence or distance learning are also eligible to apply. 
Benefits
The selected scholars will receive -
  • Maintenance allowance of up to INR 750 per month for Hostellers and up to INR  350 per month for day scholars for a duration of 10 months.
  • Reader charges of up to INR 175 per month for blind students
  • Reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees
  • Study tour charges of up to INR 900 per annum
  • Thesis typing and printing charges of up to INR 1000 (applicable for research scholars)

How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through following steps -

Step 1: Visit the National Scholarship Portal.
Step 2: Click on New Student? Register Here.
Step 3: Select the state of domicile, select the name of the scholarship the student is applying for, select scheme type, write the name, date of birth, mobile number, gender, email ID.
Step 4: Provide the bank details (Bank name, IFS Code, Account Number).
Step 5: The mobile number will be verified and an OTP will be generated.
Step 6: Login using OTP and fill the form.
Step 7: An application ID and password will be generated. Use that for future references.

Note: All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill only one application as multiple applications will lead to the cancellation of the form.

Terms and Conditions
  • The scholarship is not applicable for Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) Course and other aviation-linked courses.  
  • The students who are studying at the same stage of education that has been already passed but in different subjects are not eligible to apply.  
  • Students pursuing post-graduate courses in medicine are eligible to apply for the scholarship if they are not allowed to practice during the course tenure. 
  • Students who after passing or failing an undergraduate/postgraduate degree in Arts, Commerce or Science join any other recognised technical or professional degree/diploma/certificate courses are eligible. 
  • The students who are currently employed should have combined income with their parents/guardians not more than INR 1 Lakh.
  • The scholarship is payable for 10 months in an academic year. 
  • The continuation of the award will be based on the good conduct and regularity in attendance. 
  • Only two boys of the same parent/guardian can receive this scholarship. However, this condition does not apply to the girls of the family.
