About The Program

Post Graduate Merit Scholarship for University Rank Holders 2018-19 invites applications from students who are first and second rank holders at the undergraduate level and have taken admission in any postgraduate course. The key objective of this scholarship is to promote and nurture talented and meritorious students at the undergraduate level for pursuing studies at postgraduate level.  

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
An applicant must -
  • Be a first or second rank holder at the undergraduate level and enrolled in any full-time, regular master's degree program at any recognized/deemed/private university or autonomous/postgraduate college
  • Have secured a minimum of 60% marks at undergraduate level
  • Have completed the undergraduate course in the following streams:
    • Chemical Sciences
    • Earth Sciences
    • Life Sciences 
    • Physical Sciences 
    • Commerce
    • Languages 
    • Mathematical Sciences
    • Social Sciences
  • Not be more than 30 years of age at the time of admission in PG course.
Note:
  • The scholarship will be given for the first PG degree course only.
  • The applicant pursuing post graduation through distance mode will not be eligible.
Benefits

The selected students will receive INR 3,100 per month for a duration of 2 years only covering the full duration of PG course. 

Documents
  • Attested copy of university's undergraduate degree
  • Certificate of matriculation
  • Verification certificate issued by the institute where the student has taken admission at PG level
  • Scanned copy of Aadhaar card/enrollment
How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through following steps -

Step 1: Click on New Student? Register Here.
Step 2: Select the state of domicile, select the name of the scholarship the student is applying for, select scheme type, write the name, date of birth, mobile number, gender, email ID.
Step 3: Provide the bank details (Bank name, IFS Code, Account Number).
Step 4: The mobile number will be verified and an OTP will be generated.
Step 5: Login using OTP and fill the form.
Step 6: An application ID and password will be generated. Use that for future references.

Note: All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill only one application as multiple applications will lead to the cancellation of the form.

Terms and Conditions
  • The scholars will receive the scholarship only after successful verification of the applications by UGC. 
  • The amount of scholarship will be directly transferred to the student's account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
  • The scholarship can be renewed during the period of postgraduate course subject to the good conduct and maintenance of prescribed attendance by the applicant. 
  • Any kind of change in course is not permitted under this scheme. 
  • The students who have been awarded Post-Graduate Scholarship for University Rank Holders will not be debarred from accepting any other scholarships.
