PM Yasasvi Pre-Matric Scholarship For OBC, EBC, and DNT Students, Sikkim 2026-27 is an opportunity offered by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, to students belonging to the Other Backwards Class (OBC), Economically Backwards Class (EBC), and Denotified, Nomadic Tribes (DNT) categories studying in Class 9 and 10 in government schools. Selected students will receive an academic allowance of up to ₹4,000 per annum.

Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Now, click on the 'Login' button under the OTR option, as it is required to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Step 5: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
Step 6: Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete the registration process.
Step 7: Enter your/parents/guardian Adhaar/EID number and click ‘Get OTP’ for eKYC.
Step 8: Enter the OTP and click on ‘Verify’. Then click on ‘I Agree’.
Step 9: Enter all the mentioned details and click on ‘Finish’ to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. (Note:- This is a temporary registration number; students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the OTR process.)
Step 10: After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
Step 11: Fill in the required details and click ‘Login’ to proceed with the scholarship application.
Note:- All the applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.

Question: What is the PM Yasasvi Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme?
Answer: The PM Yasasvi Pre-Matric Scholarship is a government initiative to support students from OBC, EBC, and DNT categories studying in Classes 9 and 10 by providing financial assistance for their education.
Question: Is there an entrance exam for selection?
Answer: No. For 2026–27, selection is merit-based and depends on the student’s previous academic performance. There is no entrance test.
Question: How is the scholarship disbursed?
Answer: Once selected, the scholarship amount is directly credited to the student’s bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Question: Can students from Class 11 or 12 apply under this scheme?
Answer: No, the Pre-Matric Scholarship is only for students in Classes 9 and 10. For Class 11 and 12, there is a separate Post-Matric Scholarship under the PM Yasasvi umbrella.
Question: Can girls and students with disabilities apply?
Answer: A total of 30% of scholarships are reserved for female students, while 5% are allocated for students with disabilities, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunity.
